De Mensen announces Undercover, starring Tom Waes, Anna Drijver and Frank Lammers, will be made available on streaming platform Netflix in 2019. Undercover is Netflix its first Belgian/Dutch co-produced series.

One of the largest ecstasy producers in the world, Ferry Bouman, lives a charmed life in his villa on the Dutch-Belgian border. But things start to change when two undercover agents move into his territory, attempt to infiltrate Bouman’s life and shut down his network.

Undercover is produced by Pieter Van Huyck, Ivy Vanhaecke and Jan Theys, writer and showrunner Nico Moolenaar (Vermist) and directed by Eshref Reybrouck (Cordon) and Frank Devos (Highway of Love). The series stars Anna Drijver, Frank Lammers, Tom Waes (Nieuw Texas, Tegen de sterren op), Elise Schaap (Valentino, Ja, ik wil! Familie Kruys), Raymond Thiry (Penoza, Wolf & The Paradise Suite), Tim Haars (New Kids Turbo, Fake), Kevin Janssens (The Ardennes, Vermist) and Huub Smit (New Kids, Riphagen & Bro’s Before Ho’s).

Netflix is partnering with production company De Mensen (Blockx, The Dare, Hotel Beau Sejour), Dutch Filmworks and VRT to premiere Undercover to Netflix members globally, except for France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland where Netflix will be following local broadcasters.

“We are excited to work with Nico, Jan, their fantastic team at De Mensen, VRT and Dutch Filmworks to bring Undercover to Netflix members globally and we are particularly thrilled to be premiering the show in The Netherlands” said Kai Finke from Netflix

Undercover is a series by De Mensen for Eén (VRT), in cooperation with Gardner and Domm and Proximus.
